Dr. Manoucheka Celeste (Ph.D., 2011), who is now an assistant professor of African American studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, gave a lecture at Gonzaga University earlier this month in honor of Black History Month. Celeste references pop icon Beyoncé Knowles and films like “Gone with the Wind” and “Hustle and Flow.”
